Diana Hognogi

Writer working across stage, audio, film & TV.

About

Diana is a Romanian-born, London-based writer working across theatre, audio, film, and television. After ten years running her own Online Marketing business and a year studying Psychology, she made a major career shift, relocating to London to train in Acting.

She later completed an MA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, where she developed projects ranging from politically engaged drama to absurdist comedy.

Her work blends surreal humour with emotional depth, often exploring themes of identity, connection, addiction, truth versus performance, belonging, grief, and moral ambiguity.

She writes fuelled by deadlines, snacks, and a worrying number of open tabs. When she's not writing or thinking about writing, she can usually be found at the theatre, travelling, or going down the rabbit hole of her latest obsession.

You Matched With...

Writer's Retreat (TV Series)

In pursuit of his big break, an atheist writer infiltrates a monastery as research for his latest script. As he juggles friendships, rivalries, and the tension between intellect and experience, he’s forced to confront his unresolved relationship with his late brother — all while praying that no one sees through his act.

Death & Avocado (Audio Drama)

Set in a palliative care centre, this audio drama follows Martha, a fiercely independent social worker facing terminal cancer and the fractured ties she no longer knows how to mend—estranged from her son and caught in a tense dynamic with her daughter. Through dry humour and unexpected moments of warmth, it explores how families reach for small talk and familiar topics when they can’t face the truths that matter most.
